Backbone
This project involved the installation of 140,000m of fibre optic cable across the total length of the M50 highway and 7,000m of fibre optic cable on the N4 Section from M50/N4 interchange to the Lucan Junction.
This contract is for the supply, installation, splicing, testing and commissioning of:
Network A comprising of a 70,000m 96-core back-bone fibre network in both verges of the M50, northbound and southbound, between the Northern Operations Building (NOP) located at the Dublin Port Tunnel and a point between Junctions 13 and 14 (Sandyford interchange) of the M50 approximately at chainage Ch 31+900 (near R113 crossover) where it will be spliced and interconnected to existing 96 core fibre cables in both vergers.
Network B comprising of a 70,000m 48-core fibre network in both verges of the M50, northbound and southbound, between the Northern Operations Building (NOP) located at the Dublin Port Tunnel and a point between Junctions 13 and 14 (Sandyford interchange) of the M50 approximately at chainage Ch 31+900 (near R113 crossover) where it will be spliced and interconnected to existing 48 core fibre cables in both vergers.
Network C comprising of a 6,000m 48-core back-bone fibre network extension in the eastbound verge of the N4 motorway from the M50/N4 interchange to Lucan junction 5.
Drop Cables comprising of a 12 core fibre network from various designated chambers to roadside communications cabinets.
Equipment Cables comprising a total of 49,500m of 8 core fibre network from various designated roadside communications cabinets to field equipment cabinets which service ANPR, CCTV VMS and AID.
