Faster Project

Northern Ireland

We have just completed one of Irelands largest, Government Funded, EV infrastructure rollouts, The FASTER Project. The €6.4 million European Union funding from the INTERREG VA programme was 2 years in planning.

The project partnership was to complete the roll out and installation of 75 rapid (50KW capacity) electric vehicle charging stations across Scotland, Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland before the target deadline of 31st November 2023.

M&M Contractors were appointed as partner for choice for both Weev and EasyGo as part of a consortium which being the sole delivery partner for both Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland. This involved our teams delivering No.41 High Powered Chargers across 30 sites in 10 weeks, throughout the border regions, managing two different currencies, liaisoning with two different DNO’s (NIE/ESB), across 11 different council areas.

With our expert knowledge, and available funding we were able to advise on delivering more chargers than originally agreed across 6 reserve sites including a 180kw charger at the Grove Wellbeing Centre in Belfast which maximised and utilised the locations in which the chargers were placed. Extremely tight programme due to constraints design and build stage over 10 weeks.
